The Braille American Flag was created by founder and president of the Kansas Braille Transcription Institute, Randolph Cabral. A monument of the unique flag was installed at Arlington National Cemetery in 2008, following U.S. Congressional approval. The Braille American Flag was also officially recognized at the White House Commission on Remembrance. The Braille American Flag has gained acceptance in Canada, Mexico, England, and China. The Braille American Flag is made in Wichita, Kansas.

Our Institute has been in operation since 1998, but became chartered in 2000.

How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Father was blind. I have a an undergradutate degree in business and human resouces. I am a Nationally Certified Braille Transcriber.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our Institute uses only Nationally Certified Transcribers and Proofreaders. We produce virtually anything in printed matter into Braille, from literary, to textbook, math, music, science notation, including graphs, charts, maps, diagragms, and powerpoint presentations. We offer quick turnaround, low mass production rates, and are capable of producing Arabic Braille, along with multiple other foreign languages. We have produced the nation's first and only U.S. Congress recognized Braille American Flag allowing the blind to see it in full color.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Three, are expanding into Colorado, Illinois, and additinal locatins in Kansas.
